Enowate by Olivier Award-winning Choreographer Dickson Mbi

Enowate is choreographed and performed by choreographer and dancer extraordinaire Dickson Mbi, winner of the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance 2023. Mbi presents a solo performance at a numinous intersection where the mystical traditions of his African heritage meet the contemporary rhythms that shaped his upbringing in London’s East End. A dancer of exceptional power and grace, Dickson Mbi embodies multiple identities in this entrancing solo performance, drawing from the transformative journey to his ancestral home in Cameroon.

Enowate, meaning “truth stands”, weaves together sinuous elements of hip-hop and contemporary dance, original music, and otherworldly animated projections. In asking the universal question, “Who am I?,” Mbi connects with enigmatic forces, revealing himself and stepping from the shadows into the light.
