The12th Attakkalari India Biennial presentsBRICKS – Chorale for Bricks and Bodies from Switzerland in collaboration with Prestige Centre for Performing Arts, Bengaluru. This performance is supported by Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, and in partnership with the Embassy of Switzerland, Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai and Consulate General of Switzerland Bengaluru under the initiative Sustainability With a Plus.
Dance is movement, architecture is structure, music is rhythm. What happens when these three languages meet on the same stage? Bricks challenges our perception of space and immerses us in a universe where bodies construct and deconstruct in real time. Through gesture, sound, and matter, the work questions our relationship with built spaces and the challenges they pose to human beings and the environment. In this transdisciplinary piece, bricks not only support but also resist, sound and yield. They are the starting point for a dialogue between the ephemeral and the permanent, between solidity and collapse.
Antipode Danse Tanz, led by Swiss choreographer Nicole Morel, combines poetry, critical thinking, and artistic transversality to reinvent the relationship between body and space. Based in Fribourg and with a strong international presence, the company weaves networks that unite local creation and global dissemination. Its works explore new imaginaries through contemporary dance, music, architecture, and the visual arts.
