As part of Attakkalari India Biennial 2024, the grand world preview of Sparks – Mahabharata Opera Project, produced by Kama Productions with Ensemble MusikFabrik, in collaboration with Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, presents a unique musical theatre experience based on the revered Indian epic Mahabharata. Set to the composition of maestro Riccardo Nova, directed by Giorgio Barberio Corsetti and choreographed by Jayachandran Palazhy, the 70-minute production promises an enthralling display of artistic brilliance. This contemporary interpretation of selected sections of Mahabharata embarks on a European tour afterwards, gracing the esteemed Roma Europa Festival among others.

Sparks – Mahabharata Opera Project is promoted by Alain Danielou Foundation and brought to you by Kama Productions, Ensemble MusikFabrik and Fattore K, in collaboration with Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts and Quattrox4, supported by the Consolato Generale d’Italia Bangalore, the Goethe Institut, and Unione Induista Italiana, with the patronage of ISMEO.
