SUPERHERO by Raghav Handa

Date: 12 December 2025 | Friday

Time: 7.30 pm

Venue: Bangalore International Centre, Domlur
Duration: 45 minutes

SUPERHERO by Raghav Handa delves into the complexities of power, resilience, and human connection. Through dynamic movement and theatricality, it conjures an ambiguous world where the boundaries between the familiar and the surreal dissolve. Evocative visuals and potent symbolism invite audiences to reflect on the transformative force of unity, while challenging conventional ideas of heroism and villainy. Superhero reimagines power as a shared, shifting construct: to be a hero, must one also embrace a touch of the villain?
In the true spirit of collaboration and partnership, the performance choreographed by Raghav includes Australian dancers Kai Linden Taberner and Kiarn Doyle, and Hemabharathy Palani, Snigdha Prabhakar and Shivaranjan N.S. from Bangalore, The sound design of the performance is by James Brown, light design by Shymon Chelad, and features vocals by acclaimed singer M.D. Pallavi.

Raghav Handa is a critically acclaimed choreographer and performer with training in modern and Indigenous contemporary dance. Over the last decade he has created a body of award-winning works inspired by his Indian heritage but featuring multifaceted, engaging explorations of modern Australian identity. With theatrical flamboyance, he employs diverse artistic media to create worlds rich with surreal imagery and symbolism. His works have been commissioned by the Art Galleries, contemporary dance companies, festivals and performance houses across Australia and Internationally.
