Beautiful Thing 2

India

Tue 29 Jan

7.30pm (60 minutes)

Ranga Shankara, JP Nagar

Beautiful Thing 2, choreographed by Padmini Chettur, wields time as a dynamic element in its simple desire to create something that is economic, precise and eventually a beautiful thing. The corporeality of the body is mined for minute movements that are abstracted through the duration of the performance in an attempt to occupy space rather than displace it. The sheer physicality and slowness of the movements demands the audience to gaze, stare and immerse themselves completely just as the performer is.Read More& Book Ticket

Obtus begins with a hand. Two arms follow that are reminiscent of flying, head down. The dancer, Tamara Bacci, through these initial gestures begins a persistent exploration of a ray of light. Then through meditative gestures, measured, continuous movements, a body in peril, finds its most beautiful expression when it pushes equilibrium to its limits. In Obtus, the dancer moves with exquisite precision and sensitivity playing with a ramp of neon lights making all of her body or parts disappear. Read More& Book Ticket
